For this assignment you need to describe a good lesson that you have taught in the practice teaching period. You need to explain the significance of this lesson for you within all the teaching tasks that you have done(i.e., why did you choose this lesson), what makes this lesson effective, what you learnt from this lesson, the strenghts of the lesson and the points to improve in this lesson. You need to justify your arguments by giving examples from the lesson that you refer to.
for one of the tecahings, I prepared several activities which were all around the topic of memory. the significance of this lesson was that all the actiivites followed each other very well and very suitable for the topic. the lesson was effective because the tarnsitions between the activities were very smooth. I learnt in this lesson that what makes a lesson successful is the transitions between the activiites and their unity with the lesson' topic.
ReplyDeleteit was my teaching task II. it was really enjoyable and it was about the ads. i gave them the useful sentences and make them make a dialog and then perform it. they have fun as much as me. it was really fun and getting involved in their dialog make me happy. they were also happy to perform them because it was from the real life.
ReplyDeleteAgain the competition about cause-effect relationships I wrote about in the other section. What made it better was the previous bad experiences the students had with their own teacher. They could not comprehend the story fully thanks to too hard comprehension questions. That competition stirred their motivation which was below zero before and they loved it and begged us to teach again, having the very same activity. That direct and positive feedback felt really good as well as their comprehending the story in a really good manner.
ReplyDeletethe best lesson I have taught was the second teaching task. I really worked hard on this lesson, because on the first lesson I was shocked, nobody contributed to my lesson and they were not interested in anything, my lesson plan did not work at all, so I tried my best for the second teaching. I prepared different games and interesting activities to get their attention and it worked. Almost all of the Students participated in lesson and it made me very happy. lesson plan worked well and i finished everything on time.
ReplyDeleteI can say that I liked particulary the lesson in which I taught toys. The reason was that the sts were already interested in the subject and wanted to participate in the lesson. I had many fun activities for them and they enjoyed them all. The most common activity in this topic was games and all the games worked very well. I also realized that sts really learnt the related vocabulary and performed well in the tasks. Therefore, this lesson was my favorite.
ReplyDeleteOnce I though the food and drinks to my class and prepared the PPP for them. It was all grea because I was able to answer all of the questions and I was respected. All the students were motivated and they followed my instructions step by step. The actvities and the task I prepared were appealing to the class and they were wondering about the next activity. At the of the class my mentor teacher asked me if I had tought before and I said yes but only for a month. She said that I was profecional and like a real teacher=)
ReplyDeleteMy first teaching was really good. It was about superstitions and I tried to teach conditionals. It was very easy to teach conditionals with superstitions. In this lesson students were all active in the class and they spoke. As I got happy when students participated in class, it was a happy moment for me.
ReplyDeleteI think my second teaching task was the best one among the all teaching tasks.In this teaching task I combined present continuous tense with the story and pictures of the Smurfs. The lesson was really enjoyable and reached the objectives of the lesson.Also at the end of the lesson the students were able to make sentences using present continuous tense.
ReplyDeleteI really liked my first lesson since I didn't encounter major problems. The PPT I prepared took the attention of students therefore participation was great. I was very well prepared therefore I could anticipate potential problems. The students never used L2 but I was able to manage the lesson without using L1. Although they couldn't understand English,I expressed myself with pictures,slides, my gestures and mimics. I saw the power of gestures and pictures while teaching vocabulary. They are the most practical and economical way of expressing ourselves in other languages.
ReplyDeletemy first teaching at Atatürk Anatolian High School was very good and effective I think. I prepared a writing lesson that includes a very appropriate activity for the 10th grade students. I included visual materials and encouraged the students to participate in the activities by giving them a purpose. at the end of the lesson they all managed to write about their favorite movies and the others tried to guess them. this provides me to communicate with the students and learn about their needs and profile.
ReplyDeleteın my 2. teaching task, I practiced present continuous tense with pictures and some activities. I showed the students some pictures and wanted them to tell me what the people on the picture are doing. I also called some students to the board and wanted them to perform some activities. then, I asked "what are they doing?", their friends answered with present continuous. for example, I opened the music and wanted them to dance, then I asked what they are doing. they really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeletethis term in practice teaching I feel our first teaching was my best. I had a group work and asked them to create an invention and draw its picture and describe it. After I gave instructions, they formed the groups.Then I started to visit all of the groups one by one and check them. They asked questions, I assissted them but in a short time they achieved it. At the end the representatives camem to the board and showed and introduced their inventions. Finally I commented on each project and we chose the best. This activity increased their motivation and encouraged them. I could achieve all the students' participation. There were no student who did not actively participate in the lesson and they used the target subject in a context for a real purpose which was reaaly enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteI could call my third teaching as my best teaching. I am the big fan of the group activities and I would love the useful and sweet chaos in the classroom during the activity. My third teaching was completely based on the group activity. The focus point was the parts of the human body. I divided the classroom into two groups and asked them to match the visuals I gave them in the envelopes with the definitions in the power point presentation and then spell the word corresponds to that definition. After then, they completed the idioms with the parts of the human body and finally they diagnosed the diseases by looking at their symptoms. The activity and the topic got the attention of the students and all of them participated in the lesson voluntarily. I could manage the classroom with my effective and proper instructions. The lesson flew smoothly and there was almost no problem. I admit that I was more enjoyed than the students in that teaching.
